Relational Evangelism is how we evangelize through our relationships. We model Jesus for them to see and believe.
Kirk Franklin has a song entitled, “The Last Jesus.” Some of the lyrics are as follows: “If we say we love Jesus, but they can't see our Jesus; tell me what's the use if they can't see Jesus in you and me no more excuses; we give it all away because we may be the only Jesus they see.” I love that I have the opportunity to be someone's last Jesus.
As Christians, our desire should be to be Christ-like, to be a reflection of His love, compassion, mercy, and grace. Our lives should literally be a living, breathing, walking testimony! The way we respond, our heart posture, and how we honor the dishonorable will speak volumes to those who see us.
My life is now and will forever be an evangelistic tool.
Psalm 42 reminds us to pant (or thirst) after God through the good, bad, and the ugly. This is how we evangelize through our relationships. When we continually seek after Him, we allow our thirst to be quenched by only Him, and we encourage others to continually seek after Him so their thirst will be quenched by Him only!
