On October 7, 1894, Hyde Park Church of Christ held its first service. It's minister? Herbert Lockwood Willett, a professor invited to Chicago by his Yale buddy, Dr. William Rainey Harper. He gathered a few people together and formed a branch of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Hyde Park, and University Church was born. If UChurch has been a blessing for you, give a like or a shoutout in the comments. (and if you are a visitor seeing this flyer, YES, we like to play 🥳). Bless you and May God continue to take care of us on this corner.
