Purple Ribbons for Domestic Violence Awareness
Violence against another person, in any form such as physical, emotional, or psychological, inside or outside of the home, is never justified. In the pastoral letter “When I call for Help”, the U.S. Catholic Bishops state: “the Catholic Church teaches that violence against another person in any form fails to treat that person as someone worthy of love. Instead, it treats the person as an object to be used.”

With these purple ribbons in display, we remember the millions of women, children, and men who are victims/survivors of domestic violence each year. In addition, we hope to convey a powerful message that there is no place for domestic violence in our homes, in our neighborhood, in our nation, and in the world .
