The season of Lent began on March 5. This year, we are heeding Christ's call to "Wake up!" Stay awake!" and "be alert!" To follow Jesus is to "Live Woke." Last week, we woke up to xenophobia; This Sunday, we are waking up to "affliction" in its various forms. Christ has commissioned us to be healers and proclaimers of God's shalom (Luke 9:1-2).
