We are thrilled to announce that Saint Edmund's Episcopal Church Chicago has been awarded a $1,000 grant through the 2024-2025 Episcopal Charities Parish Partner program! 🌟

This generous grant will support our Little Free Library project, a wonderful initiative for the community. We can't wait to see the positive impact this project will have!

It is with great pleasure that we announce the Reverend Barnabas E. Pusnur has accepted the vestry’s call to become the rector of Saint Edmund's Episcopal Church effective August 1st.

Father Barnabas has previously served as Associate Rector at St. Paul and the Redeemer.

Father Barnabas is originally from Delhi, India, where he served as a pastor. Barnabas attended seminary in India, where he completed a Master of Divinity and Master of Theology. He then moved to Chicago and studied theology in the PhD program at the University of Chicago. He has extensive experience in preaching, pastoral care, and children’s ministry. He loves the church and desires that the church be a place of joy, healing and flourishing. Barnabas lives in Hyde Park with his wife, Padma, and 14-year-old daughter, Khushi. Padma works as Admin Manager at North Park Theological Seminary, and like Barnabas she too has completed theological education. Padma has been actively involved in the church and has served in various ministries. Khushi will be a junior at Walter Payton College Prep and her interests span science, singing, and dancing. Barnabas and his family are very excited to journey with Saint Edmund's Episcopal Church into a new and exciting future.

As we joyfully close the search for our new rector, we must acknowledge the countless hours, prayers, and energy poured into the process by the search committee. We are thankful for their service.

We will have a welcome reception for Father Barnabas and his family during our Back to School BBQ on August 4th. We are excited to welcome Father Barnabas, Padma, and Khushi and look forward to our future together.
