Please join us today after the 9:30am Mass to bring Jesus to the people who live around OLU-HRC.

Madrid witnessed something extraordinary today: Pope Leo XIV carrying our Eucharistic Lord through its streets on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. As thousands followed in prayer and adoration, the scene reflected the beauty of this ancient feast.
But Madrid was not alone. Across the world, Catholics gathered to carry Jesus in the Eucharist through their streets, publicly proclaiming their faith in His Real Presence.
Corpus Christi is more than a tradition—it is living faith made visible. Wherever the Eucharistic Lord was carried in procession today, in Madrid, throughout Spain, throughout the world, there beat the heart of the Church.

On the night of June 5, the 2026 National Eucharistic Pilgrimage arrived in Washington, D.C., bringing Christ present in the Eucharist to the heart of the nation during America’s 250th anniversary year.
Traveling more than 2,000 miles over six weeks, the pilgrimage brings the Eucharist through cities and communities across America, accompanied by nine young adult Perpetual Pilgrims and thousands of participants along the route. Father Charles Trullols, Director of the Catholic Information Center, accompanied the Eucharist across the Arlington Memorial Bridge—a powerful symbol of national unity and reconciliation—reflecting the pilgrimage’s theme, “One Nation Under God.” The crossing marked a profound moment of bringing Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, into the heart of the nation’s capital.
The pilgrimage vehicle then arrived on the National Mall, where Father Trullols carried the Eucharist alongside the nine Perpetual Pilgrims for a symbolic blessing of the nation, overlooking the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol.
This is more than a journey. It is a public testimony of devotion, revival, and the enduring presence of Christ in the Eucharist

“In an attempt to go beyond the crucifixion, as an act of love, he left us his body and blood as spiritual food for the journey. Christ became the living bread and the cup of salvation.. This Sunday we celebrate Corpus Christi, and Father Claudio Diaz Jr. writes about that in his new column. Read it here: https://www.catolicoperiodico.com/.../corpus-christi-%C2...

Corpus Christi: ¡seamos Eucaristía!

Thursday, June 4, 2026

No podemos controlarlo y no podemos definirlo completamente.

St. Charles and many other martyrs for the faith died between Nov. 15, 1885, and Jan. 27, 1887, in Namugongo, Uganda.

On June 3, 1886, the Feast of the Ascension, Charles Lwanga was burned at the stake. The executioners slowly burnt his feet and still alive, they promised him that they would let him go if he renounced his faith. He refused saying, “You are burning me, but it is as if you are pouring water over my body.” He continued to pray silently as they set him on fire. Just before the flames reached his heart, he looked up and said in a loud voice, “Katonda! – My God!” and died.

June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus—a devotion that reminds us of the immeasurable love Christ has for every human soul.

The origins of this devotion can be traced to the visions received by St. Margaret Mary Alacoque between 1673 and 1675. During these apparitions, Our Lord revealed His Sacred Heart, burning with love, crowned with thorns, and wounded by humanity's indifference. He invited the faithful to respond to that love through prayer, reparation, and trust in His mercy.

In one of these revelations, Jesus asked that the Friday after the Octave of Corpus Christi be dedicated to honoring His Sacred Heart. What began as a private revelation eventually spread throughout France before being extended to the entire Church by Pope Pius IX in 1856.

Today, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart remains one of the most beloved feasts of the liturgical year, reminding us that the Heart of Jesus is a refuge for sinners, a source of mercy, and a sign of God's enduring love for humanity.

As we begin this month dedicated to His Sacred Heart, let us entrust our families, our intentions, and our hearts to Christ, who never ceases to love us.

As this holy day begins, we celebrate two great mysteries of our faith.

The Blessed Trinity reveals the eternal love of God.
The Visitation shows that this love is meant to be shared.

May we receive Christ with faith and carry Him to others with joy, just as Mary did. 🤍

As you begin this Sunday, do not forget to attend Holy Mass and give thanks to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Holy Trinity, one God, have mercy on us.
Our Lady of the Visitation, pray for us.

Today, May 31st, is the Feast of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary.

The Blessed Virgin Mary, while pregnant with Jesus, greeted her cousin, Elizabeth. At the sound of the Mary's greeting, St. John the Baptist jumped for joy in Elizabeth's womb!
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.

“Blessed are you who believed 15 that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled” (Luke 1, 45).

In the first chapter of St. Luke’s Gospel (Luke 1:26-57), the Archangel Gabriel announces two wonderful events to the Blessed Virgin Mary, that she herself will bear “the Son of the Most High,” and that her aged cousin Elizabeth was in her sixth month. Despite being newly pregnant with Our Lord, Mary “hastens” to Judea from Nazareth to help her kinswoman through her final months.

After Elizabeth’s and Zachary’s child (John the Baptist) was born, Our Lady returned to Nazareth. The Church celebrates the Feast of the Visitation each year on May 31.
