If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength! Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. Proverbs‬ ‭24‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Pressure or troubles doesn’t create weakness in us, it reveals it. Anyone can feel strong when life is peaceful, but pressure exposes what we are truly rooted in. When we shrink back, stay silent, or choose comfort over obedience, Scripture shows us that our strength has been shallow, not because God failed us, but because we have not fully learned to rely on Him. God then shifts the focus from us to others. He commands us to rescue and hold back those who are being led toward destruction, people who are confused, wounded, and barely standing. Silence and inaction are not neutral when lives are at stake. True spiritual strength is proven when faith moves us to act, speak truth, and intervene with courage and compassion, even when it is uncomfortable or costly. This series will challenge us to examine where we falter under pressure and how God is calling us to grow stronger so we can stand, not only for ourselves, but for others.

Ask yourselves these questions and answer them honestly.

1. When pressure comes, do I draw closer to God, or pull away?

2. Where have I chosen silence or comfort instead of obedience?

3. Am I relying on God’s strength, or on my own understanding and emotions?

4. Who might God be calling me to notice, speak to, or stand up for?

5. What belief, fear, or mindset needs to be corrected so my faith can move into action?

Proverbs 19:3 (NIV)
“A person’s own folly leads to their ruin, yet their heart rages against the Lord.”

This verse speaks directly to a pattern we often see in life, and sometimes in ourselves. Many times, our greatest struggles are not caused by God, other people, or bad luck, but by choices made without wisdom. Folly is living apart from God’s truth, ignoring instruction, rejecting correction, and following emotions or desires instead of discernment. Yet when the consequences come, the human heart often turns its frustration towards God.

Instead of asking, “What went wrong in my thinking or decisions?” we ask,
“Why would God allow this?”

The problem is not that God failed us, the problem is that we want comfort without correction and blessing without obedience.

God’s Word is clear! His wisdom is meant to protect us, not restrict us. When we reject wisdom, we step outside of that protection. And when life falls apart, blaming God only hardens the heart and delays healing.

Here is the Truth:
1. God is not the source of chaos.
2. God does not ruin lives, folly does.
3. Taking responsibility opens the door to repentance, growth, and restoration.

When we stop raging against the Lord and start submitting to His wisdom, we don’t just avoid ruin, we begin to walk in peace.

Is there an area where God may be calling you to choose wisdom over emotion, humility over blame, and obedience over excuses?

If you’re hungry to know God more, to understand His Word, and to grow in wisdom alongside others, we would love to invite you to The Gathering LG every Friday at 7pm. It’s a welcoming space to ask questions, learn the Bible, and walk out faith together,no matter where you are on your journey. Come as you are. There is room for you.

“The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out.”
Proverbs 13:9 NIV

When we walk in righteousness, choosing God’s ways, trusting His Word, and surrendering daily, our lives begin to shine with a light that comes from Him. This light brings clarity, peace, direction, and joy. It becomes a testimony of God’s goodness and a reflection of His presence in us. Anything built apart from God cannot and will not last. The “lamp of the wicked” may appear bright for a moment, but it quickly fades because it has no eternal source. If you are walking with Jesus, your light is shining, in your home, workplace, relationships, and influence. God is the One who keeps your flame burning, and nothing can extinguish what He sustains. Let His light continue to guide you, strengthen you, and shine through you this week.

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them. Matthew 18:20

No matter how busy, tired, or stretched we may feel, God promises His presence when we gather in His name. The Gathering isn’t just about showing up physically, it’s about hearts coming together, seeking Him. Come as you are! God is already here, ready to refresh, restore, and remind us that we’re never walking alone. There is something powerful about unity in prayer and faith. You don’t have to have it all together. You don’t have to say the perfect words. Just come willing and open.
