Where is God in this world? Have you been wondering, searching, questioning?

Maybe OCIA — the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults — is for you.

OCIA is a process for non-baptized adults or baptized adult Christians who are considering entering the Catholic Church, for baptized Catholics who wish to complete their Sacraments of Initiation (Holy Eucharist and Confirmation) and Catholics who would like to explore their faith more deeply.

God's love is everywhere. God loves every human being. God loves all of creation. In OCIA, we talk about this love and how it is shown to us through Jesus Christ, through Scripture, and through other people. We explore how we can bring God’s love into our lives and the lives of others.

OCIA sessions are held on Sunday from 10:40 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. in the Fireplace Room in the convent at 7325 N. Claremont. Please come and check us out. For more information, email Art Blumberg at [email protected]. or call the Parish office at (773) 764-0615.

Religious Education is back!

This past Saturday, we joyfully welcomed our students and catechists for the first day of Religious Education! We are so happy to see both new and familiar faces as we begin another year of growing together in faith and drawing closer to Christ.

We hope everyone had a fun and restful summer! Please keep our students and catechists in your prayers as they begin this new year, that the Holy Spirit may guide and strengthen them throughout their faith journey.

Gentle reminder: There will be NO Religious Education classes this Labor Day weekend.
Families who would still like to register may call the Rectory Office at (773) 764-0615.

Come, let us gather as one family in Christ to honor Mary, Mother of Cultures, and celebrate the beautiful diversity of Asian Catholic communities throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago! Hosted by the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Asian Catholic Initiative, this special celebration will bring together our communities through traditional processions, multilingual prayers, and cultural choirs, giving glory to God for the many cultures and traditions that enrich our Catholic faith.

Join us on Sunday, September 20 at Holy Child Jesus Parish as we begin with a Marian Procession at 4:00 PM, followed by Holy Mass at 5:00 PM, with Cardinal Blase J. Cupich as our presider. Let us walk together in faith and devotion, honoring our Blessed Mother and entrusting our families, communities, and the Church to her loving intercession.

Following Mass, we invite everyone to stay for fellowship and community as we continue this joyful celebration together. Ethnic attire is encouraged as we proudly celebrate the many cultures that make up the beautiful Body of Christ.
