Smiles, wagging tails, and blessings all around! 🐾

Last Friday, October 2, parishioners, school families, and their four-legged friends gathered with Fr. Larry for our annual Pet Blessing, celebrating the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi and the joy our pets bring to our lives.

Support SPRED This Weekend!

The Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive is happening after all Masses this weekend, with donations benefiting SPRED at ICSJ.

Look for the Knights in their yellow vests, give what you can by cash or Venmo, and take home a Tootsie Roll with our thanks. Every gift helps support this important ministry!

Can’t make it to Mass this weekend? Visit the ICSJ home page at icsjparish.org to give through Venmo or GiveCentral.

There’s still time to become an ICSJ Altar Server! Students in 5th grade and up are invited to training this Wednesday, September 23, at 3:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Church.

Altar Servers play an important role at Mass—and it’s a great way for young people to get involved, be part of the liturgy and serve their parish.

Parent/guardian permission is required. Contact the Parish Office at 312-787-7174 for details and a permission form.

Celebrating Our Wedding Sacristans

Fr. Larry and Sacramental Coordinator Tina Norton (front center) recently gathered with members of our Wedding Sacristan team to thank them for the care and welcoming presence they bring to every wedding celebrated at ICSJ.

Our team of 10 Wedding Sacristans helps couples and families feel at home on one of the most important days of their lives—and we’re grateful for all they do.

Interested in joining the team? Wedding Sacristans serve on a rotating basis, helping prepare the church and assisting couples before and during their wedding liturgy.

Is God Nudging You?

If the Catholic faith has been on your mind, OCIA is a welcoming, no-pressure way to learn more, ask honest questions, and explore whether becoming Catholic—or completing your sacraments—might be where God is leading you.

Weekly gatherings begin September 17.

What a day!

More than 400 people gathered for our bilingual Mass, and over 350 stayed afterward to celebrate at this year’s Taco Fiesta with our friends from Mother of the Americas Parish.

Thank you to everyone who prayed, volunteered, served, cooked, sang, organized, and joined us. Together, we experienced what it truly means to be a Family of Families.

We were also honored that our celebration was featured by several Chicago television news stations—a reminder that our spirit of welcome and community
at ICSJ resonates well beyond our parish!
