Troop 17 Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser – Support Local Scouts!

Join us for a fun community spaghetti dinner while helping support the youth of Scouts BSA Troop 17. Proceeds help fund camping trips, leadership programs, and community service activities for local Scouts.

4️⃣ Assist the friend with signing up.

UPDATE: We are seeing lots of questions in the comments section about who is eligible to receive the patch. The unit leader should use their best judgment in making the call, keeping in mind that the goal is to encourage Scouts to invite their friends to join a unit.

Scouts in 6th grade and up are invited to Northwestern University’s Evanston campus on April 12, 2025, for a hands-on STEM experience like no other! Dozens of scientists will guide Scouts through the fascinating world of nanotechnology. Enjoy interactive presentations, lab demonstrations, hands-on experiments, and more while igniting your passion for science!

Great open opportunity for any scout

Oak Brook Trout Unlimited’s Youth Fly Fishing Program is back for its 21st year! Open to boys and girls ages 11+, this hands-on program covers everything from fly casting and knot tying to outdoor safety and conservation. All equipment is provided by the Oak Brook Chapter Trout Unlimited!

Scouts: This course follows the Fly-Fishing Merit Badge requirements, with certified counselors available to sign off completed tasks. Be sure to read the Fly-Fishing Merit Badge book and bring your signed blue “Application for Merit Badge Card” from your troop leader.

Choose from one of five dates: May 17, June 14, July 12, Aug 9, or Sept 6
Time: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

All classes begin at Camp Sagawau Environmental Education Center, 12545 West 111th Street, Lemont, IL, then proceed with casting and fishing at Maple Lake.

Class size limited to 16 students per session – Register early!
