Madonna della Strada Chapel Madonna della Strada is the chapel of Loyola University Chicago. Mass is celebrated daily, and our doors are open all day long - stop in for a visit. year round.

Designed in the Art Deco Style, Madonna della Strada Chapel opened its doors to the Loyola University Chicago Community in 1940. It is the University's main chapel. Some key dates:
-June 6, 1938, Ground breaking
-October 30, 1938, Cornerstone laid.
-November 1940, Dedication.
-1982, First renovation.
-2007, Second renovation.
-2008, new pipe organ installed.
-2014, four new bells hung in the tower

Last night, we celebrated a Scrutiny Rite for our students preparing for baptism. The scrutinies are ancient prayers of deliverance prayed over catechumens that they may be released from anything holding them back from fully embracing their new life in Christ. Join us this Christmas Eve as we concelebrate the Nativity of Christ. Midnight Mass is preceded by a choral prelude with carols at 11:30pm. Ample free parking is available in the main university parking structure.
