This spring, PBMR’s Joe Montgomery and Mac Hagerman joined partners from more than 900 organizations at the Aspen Forum for Community Solutions' Spring 2026 Convening, featuring leaders, practitioners, and organizers from across the nation who “inspire, influence, and inform our national learning agenda and collective arc to catalyze field-building, policy-change, and spark systems-change for communities & opportunity youth.”

On top of lessons to bring back to our Youth Mentorship Program at PBMR, they also both came home with immense personal impact. Learn more about their experience on PBMR’s blog: https://www.pbmr.org/pbmr-aspen-spring-2026

PBMR keeps running thanks to you!

We're heading into summer with more than $10K in support for Chicago's race against gun violence. Everyone here at the PBMR Center is beyond grateful for the generosity of friends, family, and stakeholders near and far!

We had an amazing time celebrating the generational impact of community violence intervention in Chicago with Strides for Peace and dozens of our CVI partners across the city.

You can still donate to PBMR's campaign to help fund youth programming and family support services in Back of the Yards: https://runsignup.com/Race/174990/Charity/29237

Last week, Senator Dick Durbin joined Communities Partnering 4 Peace - CP4P at the Front Porch for a discussion about community violence intervention in Back of the Yards and across the country on National Gun Violence Awareness Day.

PBMR has collaborated for decades with local organizations to bring peace to our neighborhood, and we're proud to see Chicago's work being studied and replicated in cities nationwide!

While we have much progress to be proud of, our community convened for this conversation as we were rallying from two recent shootings on our block, which makes it even more necessary to come together.
