This February, we’re stepping into our new sermon series Resilient Roots, looking at the life of Joseph and what it means to stay rooted in God when life feels uncertain, painful, or unfair.

Resilience isn’t just toughness or bouncing back.
Biblical resilience—steadfastness—is the spiritual capacity to endure suffering, trials, and trauma without being destroyed, relying on God’s strength rather than our own.

Joseph’s life reminds us that resilience doesn’t come from having everything together. His dreams were mocked, his life was threatened, and he was betrayed by his own family. Yet Scripture tells us one powerful truth again and again: the Lord was with Joseph.

This Sunday we continued our Flourish series with a powerful reminder: flourishing is not about perfect circumstances—it’s about deep roots.

From Philippians 4:10–13, we saw that Paul wrote about contentment and strength not from comfort, but from a prison cell. His secret wasn’t positive thinking or external success—it was Christ. True flourishing happens when Christ is our source, not our situation.

We were reminded that biblical flourishing looks different than the world’s version. It’s not constant happiness, material gain, or ease. It’s growing in purpose, faith, and character—even in dry seasons.

Through the lives of Joseph, Daniel, and Ruth, we saw that God often uses adversity to deepen our roots. They flourished not because life was easy, but because God was present and faithful in every season.

When Christ is our strength, we can flourish anywhere.

This Sunday we leaned into our January theme: Planted đŸŒ±

Psalm 1 paints a picture of a life that doesn’t rush, drift, or wither—but one that is deeply rooted in God.

We talked about how a planted disciple isn’t shaped by every voice, attitude, or trend around them. Instead, our direction, attitude, and posture are formed by God’s Word.

Growth often happens below the surface.
Roots are formed when we allow Scripture to correct us, steady us, and shape us.

Being planted isn’t about perfection—it’s about positioning.
Positioned in truth.
Positioned in God’s presence.
