Great God of My Life,

The love that is most satisfying
also evokes a jumbled blend
of elation, gratitude, and deep
longing for something for
which I have no name.

Sometimes, your love makes
laughter tumble from my lips;
it can also it draw tears, and
then there are occasions
when I hear myself sobbing.

My physical response to your
love can be staggering. The
images and ideas it brings
stretch my mind nearly
to the breaking point.

That this seldom happens and
does not last long is a mercy:
my body and psyche can
only take so much! Still,
I ache for more of it.

Come, overwhelm me again!

A beautiful history of serving others in Jesus’ name!

A beautiful history of serving others in Jesus’ name!

During the Korean War, Covenant World Relief & Development helped provide emergency food rations to families facing displacement, hunger, and devastation in the aftermath of war.

This archival photo captures a moment of joy as a Korean family carries home winter food supplies made possible through the generosity of Christians around the world. Decades later, these stories remain part of CWRD’s 80-year legacy of responding to crisis with compassion, dignity, and hope.

These moments—and many more—are featured in For Neighbor’s Good, the new book celebrating 80 years of Covenant World Relief & Development.

Purchase the book through the Covenant Bookstore link in bio. 📖

Holy One,

The pointed aisle arches,
wooden roof trusses,
stained-glass windows
narrating the Old and
New Testaments,
simple altar, and
the chancel window
with the Christ-figure
inviting us to “Come”
mark this space as sacred.

Your beauty fills this room
as blue fills the summer sky.
Our time here is precious.

Yet, you are not confined
to a building made by hands,
and I must leave soon.

Make me into your sanctuary!
Fashion me into your home!
Indwell me with your Spirit!
