World Refugee Day 2026 is observed on June 14 and June 21, around the United Nations' official World Refugee Day on Friday, June 20. The global theme for this year is "Until Everyone Is Safe."

In support of the refugees in our community, St. Josaphat’s Refugee/Migrant Ministry is collecting gift cards from local grocery stores (Aldi, Jewel, and Target) to distribute to families for food and other necessary kitchen supplies.

Federal changes to the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) have seriously affected eligibility for refugee families across Chicagoland. Hundreds of families have lost their benefits and can no longer purchase food through the program.

Can you provide urgently needed groceries for a refugee family? Gift cards can be dropped off in the rectory office now through June 22. We will be collecting gift cards at all the Masses on June 20 and June 21.

Join us at St Josaphat Parish this weekend to celebrate the Consecration of the United States of America to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Let us imitate the love and mercy which Christ has made known to us through his Most Sacred Heart.

Let us remember that in his own blood, Christ has removed all divisions and out of the many nations created the one people of God.

And let us reflect that we ourselves are Christ’s disciples and must therefore follow him, loving not with stony hearts, but with living hearts.

Happy Sunday!☀️

Today, our parish family celebrated the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ and joyfully welcomed two of our newest members through Baptism.✝️

This feast reminds us that God never leaves us hungry. Through His Word and through the Eucharist, He nourishes, strengthens, and guides us. This is what’s so incredibly powerful about attending Mass. Mass is not simply something we attend—it is where we come for our souls to be filled.

In a world often divided and distracted, Jesus gives Himself to us as food for the journey, bringing us into communion with Him and with one another. Through His Body and Blood, He strengthens us to be more patient, more loving, and more ready to serve.

As we begin a new week, may we come to Mass not just out of habit, but with open hearts, ready to receive all that God desires to give us.
