Join LMC for Chicago Fire “Faith and Family” Day on October 10 at 1:30 at Soldier Field and cheer on Chicago’s Major League Soccer team! Tickets are $55 and include a special Faith and Family scarf, plus family activities in the South Courtyard. A portion of every ticket purchased through LMC will go directly to our Migrant Ministry Fund.

BUILDING UPDATE

In early August, our 10-year-old ejector pump suffered a fatal casualty at the end of its long life when an inspector discovered an item that had been flushed into the system. Fortunately, the pump had lived a long and productive life of service to the church—we got our money’s worth. The pit was drained using an emergency backup pump, catastrophe was adverted, and the system is currently stable. Replacement pumps have been installed and all systems are now a go. The total cost for the replacement pumps and installation is $2,330, a little less than we paid 10 years ago. We are grateful to our property team for managing this decidedly unglamourous business for the congregation.

It's that time of year where we plan for Sunday school! We're thankful for our Sunday school teachers (missing a few here) who help children to wonder about God and love and the values that shape our lives. With God's help, they help shape us into people who are more compassionate, courageous, curious and loving and we're thankful!
