CLOSE THE WRONG DOORS

📖 Scripture Focus — Revelation 3:7 (NIV)

“What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.”

🌿 Morning Devotion — Every Open Door Is Not a God Door

As we continue September: A Month of Alignment Through Surrender, today we surrender our opportunities, access, and doors to God.

Sometimes we spend so much time praying for God to open doors that we forget to thank Him for the ones He closes.

A closed door isn’t always rejection. Sometimes it’s protection.

A closed door isn’t always a missed opportunity. Sometimes it’s divine redirection.

And every open door isn’t necessarily God’s will.

Something can look good, sound good, and even feel good—and still not be God’s assignment for you.

Revelation 3:7 reminds us that Jesus has authority over access. What He opens cannot ultimately be shut by human opposition, and what He shuts cannot be forced open by human effort.

That’s why surrender says:

“God, I don’t want access to anything that requires me to step outside Your will.”

Sometimes we keep knocking because we desperately want something to work. We keep trying to revive relationships God has allowed to end. We keep pursuing opportunities that continually rob us of peace. We keep asking God to reopen something when He may be saying, “I closed that because I know where I’m taking you.”

Alignment requires enough trust to accept both God’s YES and God’s NO.

Today, don’t just pray, “Lord, open doors.”

Pray:

“Lord, close the wrong ones too.”

I SURRENDER COMPLETELY

Lord, today I give You all of me.

Not just the convenient places.
Not just the comfortable places.
Not just the areas I understand.

I surrender completely.

I surrender my heart.
I surrender my mind.
I surrender my body.
I surrender my emotions.
I surrender my relationships.
I surrender my family.
I surrender my finances.
I surrender my ministry.
I surrender my plans.
I surrender my future.

Father, transform my thinking and renew my mind.

Remove every mindset that has kept me bound to fear, insecurity, rejection, comparison, disappointment, pride, unforgiveness, control, and doubt.

I refuse to conform to patterns that contradict the Word of God.

My mind is being renewed.
My thinking is being transformed.
My desires are being purified.
My priorities are being reordered.
My steps are being aligned.

Lord, bring every area of my life into agreement with You.

If my thinking doesn’t agree with Your Word—change my thinking.

If my desires don’t agree with Your will—change my desires.

If my plans don’t agree with Your purpose—change my plans.

If my habits don’t reflect who You are calling me to become—change my habits.

I present myself to You as a living sacrifice.

Nothing withheld.
Nothing hidden.
Nothing reserved.

My YES belongs to You.

My life belongs to You.

My future belongs to You.

I declare that complete surrender is producing divine alignment in my life.

Lord, I give You all of me. Transform my thinking, renew my mind, and bring every area of my life into alignment with You.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

SURRENDER MY WILL

📖 Scripture Focus — Luke 22:42 (NIV)

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”

🌿 Morning Devotion — Surrender Is Alignment

There are moments when surrender is not about giving up—it is about giving God control.

Jesus prayed these words while facing one of the most difficult moments of His earthly life. He expressed what He felt, but He ultimately surrendered what He wanted to what the Father had ordained.

“Not my will, but Yours be done.”

That is the language of trust.

Sometimes our greatest struggle isn’t believing that God can do something. It is surrendering how we believe He should do it, when He should do it, and what the outcome should look like.

We can pray for the right thing while still trying to control the process.

But surrender says:

* Lord, I release my timetable.
* I release my expectations.
* I release my preferred outcome.
* I release the people and situations I’ve been trying to control.
* I trust Your wisdom when I cannot understand Your way.

As we continue through September—our month of Alignment Through Surrender—God is inviting us to exchange control for trust. Surrender creates room for our desires to come into agreement with His purpose.

Sometimes God doesn’t change the situation immediately because He is first changing our posture within the situation.

I DECLARE that September is my month of ALIGNMENT THROUGH SURRENDER!

I surrender my will to the will of God.

I surrender my plans, my timing, my worries, my fears, and my expectations.

I refuse to allow anxiety to govern my decisions.

I will PRAY instead of panic.

I will TRUST instead of worry.

I will SURRENDER instead of strive.

I will THANK GOD before I see the answer.

Father, align my thoughts with Your Word,
align my desires with Your will,
align my decisions with Your wisdom,
align my relationships with Your purpose,
and align my steps with Your divine direction.

If it is not Your will for me, give me the grace to release it.

If it is Your will for me, give me the faith to walk in it.

If I am moving ahead of You, teach me to wait.

If fear has caused me to stand still, give me courage to move.

I surrender the WHO.
I surrender the WHAT.
I surrender the WHEN.
I surrender the WHERE.
I surrender the HOW.

God, YOU lead—I will follow.

I declare that the peace of God is guarding my heart and my mind. I will not be consumed by what I cannot control because I trust the One who controls everything.

September, I am ALIGNED.
September, I am SURRENDERED.
September, I am AT PEACE.

My answer is YES, LORD.

Alignment Through Surrender.
Pray. Release. Trust. Align.
