Days of Awe Devotional
Evening Session Day 10
Rest & Restoration
"Sounding the Spiritual Alarm
to Awaken YAH's People"
Evening Meditation:
In one of the many accounts of contention between the Messiah and the Pharisees, the Messiah declares that He is Lord of the Sabbath. Indicating that through Him the eternal promise of REST can be experienced through faith in Him, both now, and in His coming Kingdom. The REST He currently provides allows us a relief from being wearied psychologically, as we carry frustrations and worry within the heart and mind. There is relief emotionally from the hurt and grief we experience in it's many forms. There is relief spiritually by transformation of our mortal being. There is also relief physiologically, for the body. We are freed from the cares of this world. Therefore, taking the neccessary time away from our labors refreshes our whole being. These are emblematic of the hope we shall see upon Messiah's return to make all things new!
We are to operate now as if we are already seated in Heavenly places. The on-going mission is to carry out the goal of the Kingdom. RESTORATION of YAH's purpose in humanity. Our responsibility is to work toward spreading the message and the will of the Kingdom. The charge to Adam and Eve, Noah and his sons, now rest upon Believer's through the ministry of Messiah. To fill the earth with the children of GOD! To seek justice in the world, to live with a Christ-like moral ethic, and extend mercy toward others as we have received. Contemplate the following questions.
Reflective Questions:
1. How could keeping the weekly and annual Sabbath’s be helpful mechanisms for refreshing the whole person from the stress of the world?
2. Why isn't the Sabbath a focus in the Christian church?
3. Are those reasons biblically sound?
4. How have you extended the grace of Christ to someone?
5. Is offering salvation through Christ the only mission of the church?
Evening Prayer:
Eternal GOD. I thank You for establishing hope in Christ. For through Him I find relief from the troubles of my soul and the troubles all around me. I thank You for allowing me to experience now what will become a more true reality in Your coming Kingdom. As I gain new insight into what You have planned for me, I realize that I've worked too hard. I could have allowed Your truth to do the work in me. Now Father give me more opportunity in Your Kingdom so others may experience the REST I have found. In the name if Him through whom all things with be RESTORED. Yahusha Hamashiach, Jesus the Christ, I pray, Hallelujah! Amen.
