I've been reflecting on the order signed to release the official records of Rev. Martin Luther King to the public.
Sisters and Brothers please brace yourselves, and allow your support for this tremendous figure in our civil rights fight to remain what it is.
We honor Dr. King for his non-violent fight against the social injustice that plagued mainly blacks here in the United States, and people around the world.
We honor him for his prophetic words and witness in the face of the Jim Crow laws that haunted us as black people.
Please know that Donald Trumps sudden desire to sign an official executive order to release Rev. Kings files after all of these years, have absolutely nothing to do with "being transparent to the American people".
Rather it has everything to do with seeking to destroy the legacy of a proclaimed hero, with so-called official files and recordings cooked up by the FBI.
I pray that we hold on to the personal knowledge that we have as a people reflecting the content of Rev. King's character, and the power of the prophetic witness and words that he offered to us that has caused a positive affect around the world to this very day.
We must not allow what is to come to destroy the witness of this mighty man of God as a result of the upcoming exposed records.
