The command to ‘be still’ is not a state of inactivity or some kind of meditative practice. It’s an act of surrender.

It’s an invitation to still our striving, to cease our attempts at control, and let God be God.

Sermon notes | Faith over Fear?

The most detrimental thing to faith is not fear; it’s logic and certainty.

Faith is never based on certainty, but hope for and an assurance in what we do not see (Hebrews 11:1).

We can look to Abraham,
the ‘father of faith’,
for encouragement.

The Lord told
Abraham to leave
his country, his people
and his father’s household
to a new land he did
not know (Genesis 12:1-4).

And Abraham went,
as the Lord told him.

He was obedient, even without certainty.

Be bold in faith today!
