Calling all high schoolers!

Join us on the beautiful grounds of Mundelein Seminary for a week of exploring the Western and Catholic intellectual tradition as we examine together the rich theme of the journey. In our expedition together—alongside the likes of such adventurers as Odysseus, Augustine, Dante, Bonaventure, Teresa of Avila, and Don Quixote—we will consider what it means to set out as sojourners and pilgrims longing for a true homeland in which we’ve never lived, to act heroically in the face of a broken world, and finally to return home to God, accepting the call to be saints.

A year ago, our artist-in-residence Sarah Crow gave a talk on her recently-completed reconstruction of Caravaggio's Supper at Emmaus. Attendees enjoyed a rich reflection on the profound theological symbolism of the painting as well as the meticulous process of employing 17th century techniques and materials.

At St. Gregory's Hall, Sarah creates original works of sacred art, teaches art workshops in her studio, and leads tours of our parish churches.

Christ is Risen! In our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program, we celebrate Easter with the Liturgy of Light, a reenactment of the Paschal candle blessing and procession from the Easter Vigil, and the presentation of the empty tomb. Children love this work as it helps them to visualize the place where Jesus was buried and imagine what Christ's followers must have thought and felt upon finding the tomb empty.

You can learn more about our program and tour the atrium this Sunday after the 9:30 Mass at St. Gregory the Great at Mary, Mother of God Parish - Chicago!
