It is with deep sadness that we share the news that our beloved +Milica Vukelić passed away on July 17, 2026.

Affectionately known as Baba Milica to many of us, she was a founding member of St. Simeon and our very first Kolo president. She helped build something far greater than an organization. She helped build a community rooted in faith, friendship, and service. She understood that a parish flourishes because of people who quietly give of themselves, expecting nothing in return. That was our +Baba Milica. She gave her time, her talents, and her heart with humility and love.

She will be remembered for her warm smile, her wonderful sense of humor, her kindness, and the sincerity with which she lived her life. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, and she touched the lives of so many simply by being herself.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 31st at 9 a.m. at St. Simeon Mirotočivi SOC. Opelo/Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. Interment at New Gračanica Serbian Orthodox Monastery, followed by Dača (memorial luncheon) at the monastery.

Our KOLO is so grateful to everyone who joined us for our Petrovdanski ručak! A heartfelt thank you to the Boričić and Srdanović families for generously sponsoring the event. Together with our KSS, they helped prepare a delicious lunch filled with Serbian comfort food. Special thanks also to the Krajišnik, Savich, Sparavalo, and Sterling families for roasting the mouthwatering chicken. It was a beautiful afternoon of fellowship, with guests joining us from near and far!

With deep sadness, we share the passing of our dear parish member, Radosav “Rade” Petrovich, who passed away on May 23, 2026. He is the husband of our KOLO sister, Zorica Petrovich.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Zorica, his daughters Milka (Todd) Thoresen and Milanka (Tom) Van Osdol, and his grandchildren Jessica, Leila, Luka, Oliver, and Aleksa. Please keep the entire Petrovic family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a Pomen Service at 5:30 p.m. at:

Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 1, 2026, directly at St. Simeon Mirotočivi Serbian Orthodox Church, where Radosav will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by the Very Rev. Mile Subotic.

Interment will follow at New Gracanica Serbian Orthodox Cemetery in Third Lake, IL.

Radosav Petrovich, devoted husband of 57 years, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Munster, Indiana on May 23, 2026 at 87 years of age. Sunday's KOLO meeting was filled with extra joy as we gathered to celebrate a truly extraordinary milestone - the 97th birthday of our beloved Teta Milica Vukelić! As our KOLO's very first president in 1964, Teta Milica is a true pillar and the heart and soul of our parish family. Classy, witty, and full of heart, her unwavering dedication to our church and KOLO has left an imprint that will be felt for generations to come.

We are endlessly grateful for her presence in our lives. Srećan rodjendan, Teta Milica! Volimo te puno! Happy 97th birthday, Teta Milica! What a beautiful legacy you continue to inspire in us all!
