We are an Open and Affirming congregation, affiliated with American Baptist Church (ABC-USA) and United Church of Christ (UCC). As we close out the week, our hearts remain full of gratitude for the joy, teamwork, and fellowship shared during our Spring Cleaning Spree.

Thank you, Hyde Park Union Church family, for demonstrating what it means to serve together with love, dedication, and purpose. Your willingness to give your time and talents reflects the strength of our faith and the beauty of our beloved community.

We believe God is doing a new thing in this season, and we are excited about all that lies ahead. Together, we will continue to grow in faith, deepen our relationships, and expand our ministry to serve others.

Join us this Sunday as we gather for worship, fellowship, and a renewed commitment to God's work in our community.

This past Sunday reminded us that ministry happens everywhere not just in the sanctuary.

Every broom swept, every flower planted, every chair moved, and every meal shared during our Spring Cleaning Spree reflected the spirit of service, fellowship, and community that makes Hyde Park Union Church so special.

Just as the people in Nehemiah's day came together with one purpose and one heart, we joined together to care for our church home and strengthen the bonds that unite us as a beloved community.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time, talents, and energy. Together, we are building more than a church we are building God's Kingdom.

What a wonderful day of fellowship, service, and community at Hyde Park Union Church!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in our Spring Cleaning Spree: "Refresh Our Space, Renew Our Spirits."

From cleaning and organizing to gardening, grilling, and sharing time together, our church family embodied the spirit of Nehemiah 2:18:

"Let us rise up and build."

Together, we did more than refresh our church home—we strengthened the bonds that make us a beloved community. Your time, energy, and dedication have helped prepare our church for a new season of ministry, hospitality, worship, and growth.

Thank you for serving with joyful hearts and willing hands. We are grateful for each and every one of you.

“And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind…”

God still knows how to send fresh wind into weary places.

If you are tired, discouraged, overwhelmed, or uncertain. Pentecost reminds us that fresh fire and fresh hope are still possible.

When the Spirit shows up, dead things live again, hearts are restored, and strength is renewed.

You are not beyond renewal. You are not beyond revival. The Spirit still moves.

We look forward to seeing you this Sunday, May 31st!

The Holy Spirit was never sent to make us comfortable. He came to make us courageous.

In Acts 2, the disciples were mocked and misunderstood, yet they continued to speak with boldness through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Today, that same Spirit calls us to stand firm, speak truth, pursue justice, reject hatred, and love boldly in a broken world.

We are not called to be silent we are called to be Spirit-filled and courageous.

Reflection of the Day:
Am I living cautiously to avoid criticism, or courageously to honor God?

Pentecost reminds us that God still knows how to breathe life into weary hearts.

In Acts 2, fearful disciples were transformed into courageous witnesses through the power of the Holy Spirit. What began in uncertainty became a movement filled with boldness, unity, healing, and revival.

In a world overwhelmed by division, violence, fear, and uncertainty, the Church still needs fresh wind from God.

We don’t just need bigger churches.
We need revived churches.
Spirit-filled churches.
Praying churches.
United churches.

May our prayer this week be:
“Lord, breathe on us again.”

Today we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and loved ones this Memorial Day, may we pause with gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy because of those who served with courage and honor.

We remember.
We honor.
We are grateful.

Come expecting this Sunday.

Expect encouragement.
Expect community.
Expect God to meet us once again.

Don’t come alone bring someone who needs hope, prayer, or a fresh start.

Midweek reminder: don’t lose heart.

“Let us not grow weary in doing good…” — Galatians 6:9

Even when it feels slow… even when it feels heavy… even when you can’t see the full picture—God is still working.

So today, choose to keep going:
✨ Keep going
✨ Keep praying
✨ Keep trusting

Your consistency is not in vain. God sees it all.

And if someone comes to your mind who needs encouragement, invite them to worship with you this Sunday. One invitation can change everything.

Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is stay connected.

Life gets heavy. Stress happens. Uncertainty comes. Exhaustion is real. But God never intended for us to walk through it alone.

This week, don’t disconnect lean in.

✨ Stay connected to God
✨ Stay connected to people who pour into you
✨ Stay connected to worship and community

There is strength in community, encouragement in fellowship, and hope in God’s presence.

Invite someone to come with you this Sunday.
