As we close the curtain on the 112th Annual Session of the Illinois National Baptist State Convention, our hearts are filled with gratitude for all that God has done.
What an unforgettable final night! Our lecturer, Dr. Micheal Henderson, challenged us to take an honest audit of our hospitality, reminding us that Christian hospitality must be both intentional and consistent as we make disciples and build the Kingdom.
The session concluded with our State President, Dr. Joel D. Taylor, delivering his annual address and preaching with power from Matthew 16:13–18, calling us to continue the work of the Convention under our theme, "God's Church Built Through Christ" (Ephesians 2:19–22). His message reminded us that Christ remains the only sure foundation upon which His Church stands.
One of the evening's most touching moments was the opportunity to express our love and appreciation to our State President and First Lady for their faithful labor, kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our State Convention. We were honored to shower them with a tangible expression of our gratitude for the countless ways they have poured into this ministry.
Thank you to every pastor, church, officer, auxiliary, volunteer, musician, and attendee who made this session such a tremendous blessing. Your presence, prayers, and partnership continue to strengthen the work of God's Kingdom across Illinois. A special thanks to the host church and pastor, Paul’s Chapel MB Church, and Dr. Virgil Walton for rolling out the red carpet to us!
As everyone travels home, we pray God's hand of protection over every mile. May His peace be with you until we meet again.
"Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages.”
