A WALK THROUGH TIME: This is a reminder that Historic Second Church will be open for tours this Sunday, Aug. 30, from 1 to 4 p.m., during the annual Glessner House "A Walk Through Time" event. For details, please see the website:

We highly reccommend you register for "A Walk Through Time" tickets and take advantage of this once-a-year opportunity to see inside significant historic homes and tour other sites in the Prairie Avenue District and South Loop!

An often overlooked window in Historic Second Church is this beautiful light screen designed by Chicago architect Howard Van Doren Shaw and fabricated by Giannini & Hilgart of Chicago. It is located between the narthex and the sancturary. It depicts a healthy grape arbor with prominent grapes, leaves and vines.
