Each person is as unique as a flower. That's what the founder of the Flower Ceremony, Rev. Norbert Čapek wanted to show and to celebrate with his congregation. Over 100 years later, we still practice this annual ceremony, knowing that in our community, it is the wide variety of our beliefs and practices and ways we make meaning in all our lives that makes us a congregation full of wholeness and beauty. This place, like the vase that holds our flowers, containing us all to show off the wondrousness of our holy selves, not to dismiss or diminish. Please bring a flower or two to share today for our ceremony!

Service starts at 10:00am @ 3005 Thomes Ave.

This week we take some time to ponder the conundrums that often arise when change (let's shift that to "growth") is happening. Which really is all the time, right? Right now this means lots of green outside and we will create some leaves and grass of our own for the chancel in anticipation of Flower Ceremony next week. Of course our Annual meeting could be seen as a ritual that helps us facilitate and deal with change. Thank you, thank you to those coming, those going and those staying in UUCC leadership roles. From a spiritual perspective we will also consider why we anticipate some changes with fear and avoidance and embrace others whole heartedly. Be ready to learn a useable guided meditation technique to take with you that sources that deep liminal (or spiritual) place within each of us that highlights some key elements that we already use to heal and grow in response to life's challenges.
