A crackin' big thank you to everyone who participated or volunteered at our Emerald Crossing VBS this summer! We enjoyed a wonderful week exploring Psalm 23 in the green fields of Ireland! More than 75 children participated with over 60 volunteers helping! We had a packed house at our Friday Night Family Ceilidh which featured dancers from the Bell School of Irish Dance, a Baked Potato Bar and face painting!

A special thank you to our VBS families for donating 429 food items to the West Deer Food Bank and Backpack Initiative, and $206 to the West Deer Dog Shelter.

We also extend our appreciation to the Deer Lakes Nursery School for coordinating and hosting our preschool component, and to CDI Printing and our O&E and Mission Ministry Teams for their generous donations. Antler Graphics printed our t-shirts. Many people also purchased items from our Amazon WishList and donated food items for our Cantina and Friday Night Ceilidh!

Thank you for your generosity! Our Emerald Crossing VBS was made possible by many people sharing their time, talents and resources! We give thanks to God for you and our wonderful week together!

More than 75 lads and lasses, and 63 shepherd-volunteers, continue our journey through the green fields of Ireland learning that God is our Good Shepherd! We give thanks for the opportunity to grow and learn about God’s love together at Emerald Crossing VBS!

We enjoyed a bonnie grand evenin’ at Emerald Crossing VBS on Monday!

All week long, we’re leading about Psalm 23 reflected in the green fields of Ireland.

We danced and sang, made a shepherd staff and our own personalized sheep, and met Lucy, the leprechaun, who led the children through the Enchanted Forest, over the Rainbow River into Bible Flock Talk to meet Obadiah, a neighbor of David, the shepherd boy who became king! Our lads and lasses played Gaelic Football, tie-dyed t-shirts and munched on Mia, the sheep cupcakes!

We also traveled to Ireland and met Phineas O’Sullivan, who has inherited Stillwater sheep farm. He has lots to learn about becoming a good shepherd!

We hope you enjoy these pics! Know that God is your Good Shepherd—and you can never be so lost that God cannot find you! You are part of His Flock, no matter what!

We're Heading to the Emerald Isle Next Week! There's Still Time to Register!

Get your passport ready! We are headed across the Atlantic for this year’s Emerald Crossing VBS! We are so excited to journey through Ireland's lush landscapes, exploring the powerful words of Psalm 23! More than 60 children are already registered to join our exciting Irish adventure at East Union Church!

We'd love to see your children too -- and they're welcome to bring friends and neighbors along!! Pre-registration is appreciated, but not required. Extra t-shirts are available. Walk-ins are welcome, and children can attend any days they are available. On Friday night, we'll have an Irish Ceilidh ("Kay-lee") -- a big party with a Baked Potato Bar and dancing with the Bell School of Irish Dance!

East Union Church, June 15-19 ~ Evenings from 6:00-8:30pm

☘️Get your passport ready and join our Irish adventure! ☘️

Registration is still open for VBS 2026! Our Emerald Crossing theme will take us on a journey through Ireland's lush landscapes, exploring the powerful words of Psalm 23!

Our program is designed for children ages 4 y/o (by September 1st and potty-trained) – rising 6th graders (Rising 6th graders can join the fun as participants or volunteers.)

Beauty and adventure await us each day at Emerald Crossing, where lads and lasses will gather at the Emerald Isle Assembly for music and fun! Then, they'll join a crew to rotate through Stations, including:
Flock Talk Bible Time
Celtic Corner Crafts
Top O' The Mornin' Missions
Green Meadow Games
Stillwater Snacks

Each day will feature an Animal Pal, a Memory Verse, a Cool Contest, Offering Collection to benefit the West Deer Dog Shelter, and Food Collection for the West Deer Food Bank/Backpack Initiative. The week will end with our Friday Night Family Night Celebration--an Irish Ceilidh (Party!) with a Baked Potato Bar, dancers from the Bell School of Irish Dance & more! Come, kiss the Blarney Stone!
