I have an announcement I would like to share with you. It is good news about the continuing work of ministry and the ways God is guiding our path forward together.

As we were reminded throughout worship this morning, the Good Shepherd continues to lead us in new directions and into new opportunities for ministry. Today I want to share with you one of those next steps.

Today I share with you that I was invited by Bishop Hector A. Burgos-Nunez and the Cabinet into an additional appointment, beginning July 1, 2026. As United Methodists, we are part of an itinerant appointment system, and I have accepted an appointment to West Fort Ann UMC in addition to my appointment here. It is my joy to serve here, and I look forward to a healthy transition process for me and Scott, and for this congregation, as we expand our ministry. We may find that there are ways for us to collaborate with the West Fort Ann folks. It will be exciting to see what God has in store for us! Let us pray for God’s continued blessing as we work together to nurture disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

I want you to hear this as good news. I will continue serving The Community United Methodist Church of Chestertown, and I am grateful for the opportunity to expand my ministry in new ways. Just as we have reflected today on the Good Shepherd who leads us forward, I trust that God is guiding this next step.

Bishop Héctor A Burgos-Núñez has named Rev. Anna Blinn Cole to serve as Superintendent of the Adirondack and Albany Districts beginning July 1, 2026. This appointment comes as Rev. Debbie Earthrowl’s concludes an eight-year tenure in the role. Currently serving as pastor of Cobleskill United Methodist Church and serves as coordinating elder for the Schoharie Mosaic: A United Methodist Cooperative Ministry, Rev. Blinn Cole brings experience in collaborative, justice-centered leadership and a strong commitment to the holistic wellness of clergy and laity as the districts enter a new season of ministry.

We celebrate the work and witness of Rev. Anna Blinn Cole and pray for her, her family, and her congregations as they move into this new chapter of ministry.
