Richmond Primitive Baptist Church

Richmond Primitive Baptist Church We meet to worship 10:30 a.m. every Sunday. Visitors are always welcome to join us in worship, fellowship, and study! Come and see!

The Richmond Primitive Baptist Church has assembled since before the construction of any Baptist churches in Chesterfield County, Virginia. In January of 1791, Eleazar Clay deeded one acre of land to the perpetual worship of God at our location on Qualla Road. The construction of the original church building was the second Baptist church constructed in the history of Chesterfield County, and the o

riginal worshippers of the assembly among the first primitive Baptists in Virginia. This primitive Baptist church has preached the doctrine of God’s grace since it’s founding, and His sovereign grace continues to be our primary doctrine today. Our cemetery has marked and unmarked graves dating to the early 19th century. Our cemetery is currently being researched and renovated. The website for our cemetery can be found here: https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/2308764/richmond-primitive-baptist-church-cemetery and will be updated as research continues. More about our history can be found in our church welcome pamphlet. We are overjoyed with each and every visitor and are grateful for the opportunity to worship with our fellow Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

Colossians 3:10-16 & An Invitation To Worship

And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

We continue to welcome all followers of the Lord Jesus Christ on Sundays at 10:30 for singing, praying, preaching, and worshipful fellowship. God bless each one in the Name of Jesus.

A message of hope from Scripture: Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bo***ge again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bo***ge of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Praise God. Romans 8:12-25

Our dear friend, Kevin Ozbolt, has gone on to worship the King in gloryland. Kevin was such a kind and generous Brother to us, just recently constructing a handicap ramp for our aging congregation. God gave Kevin an amazing testimony, a miraculous story of healing and redemption. Kevin always shared his deep love for his wife and for his mother when he was among us. He was quick to forgive, quick to be vulnerable and relatable, and ever lending a helpful hand. While we miss him dearly and feel the strangeness of such bereavement, we are hopeful because of the saving work of Christ in his life. We can trust that our Lord and Savior had prepared a place for our dear friend, just as He prepares a place for each of His people in His Presence in Heaven. We need not fear death in light of His promises to us. May God bless the Ozbolt family, and may He keep and bless all who tenderly miss our dear friend, Kevin.

Our assembly continues to meet each Sunday morning at 10:30 and we would love for you to come and visit with us. God bless you.

Good morning! We will be meeting for prayer at 10:30 tomorrow morning, rather than our usual time. All are welcome to join us as we humbly approach the throne of God in Spirit and in Truth.

For anyone anxious regarding the current election, fear not! Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand! Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:4-9) May God bless you each from His overflowing storehouse of mercy and compassion, and may we turn to Him and He heal this land.
