In Genesis 7 we see God’s both the wrath of God’s righteous judgement as well as his infinite mercy on display. As scripture reminds us, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). As unrighteous sinners, we have a better ark to save us from the eternal and deserved wrath of a Holy God - we have Jesus Christ our Lord and savior.

After years of laboring over a promise no one else believed, the rain finally started and God personally shut the door. It is a striking picture of what it looks like to trust God’s word when it’s difficult, and the peace that comes from being hidden in His protection. Just as Noah and his family were saved from the flood through the ark, believers today are saved from divine judgment through faith in Jesus Christ.
