First Presbyterian Church of Chester, NY We are a small but mighty congregation, faithfully serving the community of Chester (and beyond) since 1798.

Come get to know us better on Sunday with worship at 11am. We strive to faithfully serve our God and our community, loving God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength, and loving our neighbor as we love ourselves. We hold weekly Bible studies, bi-weekly book studies, Sunday school, Lenten and Advent lunch bag devotionals, along with our weekly worship services and special services throughout t

he year. We are community oriented with housing and running the community food pantry, starting a community garden, housing numerous support groups, the local Kiwanis club, and have recently formed a new partnership with VOCA (Village of Chester Arts Association) to support the arts in our community (and celebrate creativity!).

This Sunday we're asking why glory has to be so temporary. And the answer might surprise you.

Join us for worship at 9:30 am as we continue our summer series CAMP with a message called Tentative Glory. We're spending time with the Transfiguration, the moment Jesus takes three disciples up a mountain and everything changes. Peter's response? Can we just stay here? Can we build something so this doesn't end?

Sounds familiar.

Glory isn't temporary because it's fragile. It's temporary because it travels. Come find out what that means.

🐔 44th Annual Chicken BBQ at First Presbyterian Church of Monroe! 🐔
Friends, our neighbors (and summer worship partners) at First Presbyterian Church of Monroe are hosting their beloved Chicken BBQ, and we want to make sure our FPC Chester family shows up big!

Your ticket gets you a half chicken, macaroni salad, corn, and strawberry shortcake. Dine in and enjoy the company, or grab a take out plate for the family. Either way, it is a meal worth planning your Saturday around.
This is one of Monroe's longest running traditions, and after a summer of worshipping together, it feels like the perfect chance to keep that fellowship going around the table too.
