This summer in DC Kids, we’re creating something really special—and we’d love to invite you into it. 💛

As we head into the summer months, we’re building a DC Kids Summer Volunteer Team—a short-term team serving June through August. This team helps create space for our incredible school-year volunteers to rest, while also inviting others to step into the joy of investing in the next generation.

Because here’s what we know to be true:
Every child benefits from more caring, consistent adults in their lives.

💛 A Simple Way to Make a Lasting Impact
This opportunity is designed to be:

~Short-term (just 3–6 services over the summer)
~Flexible and supported (you won’t be doing this alone!)
~Meaningful (what you do matters more than you think)

Whether it’s helping a child feel seen, welcoming a new family, or simply showing up with a smile—you are helping create a space where kids can encounter God, experience joy, and grow in their faith.

This week is about helping your child build identity from God’s truth:

You can reinforce this daily by saying:

“You are brave.”
“You are kind.”
“You are chosen by God.”
“You were made for a purpose.”
Why it matters:
Children will believe a voice—this week helps make sure it’s God’s voice (and yours) that becomes the loudest.

We’re bringing together our Youth Apprentice Team — students from 5th–12th grade who help on Sundays in Clubhouse and SPARK — for an afternoon to just hang out, have fun, and build our team.

✨The Apprentice Youth Sunday Serve Team helps students in grades 5–12 move from attending to belonging—learning to serve, lead, and live out their faith.
