Some people walk into a room and immediately raise the bar. Homework Club volunteer, Lisa O’Mailey, is that person!
Lisa was born blind, but she describes it not as a disability, but as “an inconvenience.” Her perspective is powerful:
“God made me blind for a reason. I don’t need to know why. I’m supposed to make the best of it for Him. I’m living my life to the best of my ability, to God’s glory.”
And that is exactly how she's served consistently for 3 yrs at Homework Club!
Lisa encourages students to see themselves as leaders. She challenges them to use their resources wisely, make good decisions, and believe they are capable of more. She holds a high standard because she deeply believes in who these kids are becoming.
This is what long-term faithfulness looks like with steady presence and genuine love!
