The SPAN Center's Friendship Cafe offers free activities, lunch, and transportation for adults 60 and older at four Chesterfield County locations.

We are blessed to host a Friendship Cafe at Fellowship. If you, or someone you know, could benefit use the contact information in this post to get started.

FRIENDSHIP CAFÉS

Imagine a place right in your
neighborhood where the lunch is
always healthy, the activities are
always fresh, and the company is
always familiar. That place is the
Friendship Café.

Designed for adults aged 60+, cafés
are vibrant community hubs where "staying active" looks like a morning of creative arts, a lively exercise session, or a guest lecture that sparks a new interest.

With 20 locations across Richmond
and the surrounding counties, there
is almost certainly a café just around the corner from you.

Each site is also overseen by qualified Nutrition Managers who ensure every meal meets daily dietary needs and each day is filled with fun activities.

The best part? It’s all provided at no
cost. From the warm meals and
fitness classes to the organized
field trips and creative workshops,
your seat at the table is already
waiting for you.

Most locations are open from 9:30am to 1:00 pm, four days a week. We’ve got the food and the fun—all we’re missing is you.

Pray for our missionaries of the week, Dean and Sybil Polk.

They serve the people of Central Asia—though they can’t live in the region directly. Instead, they invest in local church planters by hosting training retreats in a nearby country, offering instruction, fellowship, and encouragement.

Their partners serve in high-pressure environments where scrutiny and hostility toward Christians is intense. Yet, by God’s grace, doors continue to open.

At one retreat, a partner shared about a new Bible study in their home. A couple began attending—she was a believer but had never been in a church, and he, though not a believer, is open to the gospel. The Polks are hopeful this is a breakthrough moment.

In addition to their long-distance ministry, the Polks actively invest in their local community, school, and church.

PRAY for gospel advancement in Central Asia and for open doors, increased missionary pipelines, and growing access for global partners
