Chester, New York St. Paul’s is a vibrant Episcopal parish in the lower Hudson Valley.

We are small enough to be warm and friendly, yet big enough to be surprisingly diverse. Built in 1898, our church has been described as “a little jewel box,” and we treasure its historic authenticity. We also treasure our Episcopal traditions, liturgy, and music, but like to spice it up occasionally with some tastefully done contemporary music, Taize chants, and our monthly “Family Sunday.”

Today we held our annual church picnic! We had a lot of good food and a real nice time with our church family!

Today is the 128th birthday of St. Paul’s in Chester. 128 years ago the very first service was held. Mother Claire pointed out how different that service would have been compared to now. Woman would have been dressed to the nines with hair up and a hat or lace on top. Men wore stiff collared white shirts along with a black suit, even in 90 degree weather. The sermon most likely contained a lot of Thou and Thee’s . But here we are 128 years later saying, Happy Birthday St. Paul’s!

We will have a person at the Church, June 7th from 11:30 until 1pm, June 8th, 9th, 10th from 6:15pm until 7:15pm to accept all donations. Time to clean out your closets and garages.
