It was a rainy Memorial Day, with many people coming for groceries. We served 354 people with lots of groceries, three trailers full. We met one non-member benevolence need. The question for the night, is Jesus worthy?

A short, but meaningful, Psalm that talks about the reign of King Jesus, on His eternal throne. As we see what will one day be, the church has a mission to express the coming Kingdom, through our exclamation of His greatness! There will come a day when the noise of the world will be squelched.

God established a sabbath at creation, and commanded it in the Ten Commandments. The question is, what is your day of rest and holiness? This psalm declares the goodness of God, while declaring that the wicked will be scattered and destroyed, in the end.

A rainy grocery giveaway still served 204 people by groceries, gave out 108 bags of groceries, gave out flour, pinto beans, sunscreen, aloe, mac&cheese, baby formula and banana purées. We also met one benevolence and helped one person with community service. The question for the night, how can we pray for you, and then we prayed.

Mothers were called to a task that only they can do. God created them to carry a baby inside of them, until the time of their birth. God then equips mothers for what he has called them to. Mothers were made in God’s image, and give us a glimpse of our Savior. What mom does in her home, Jesus does for all of mankind.

To all of our moms.

Thursday, May 7, is the National Day of Prayer. Prayer is a powerful weapon against evil. Throughout His earthly ministry, Christ demonstrated prayer in action. Whether you go to the Old Chesterfield Courthouse (12 PM), or you go with us to the State Capitol (10:45 AM), or you pray in your place, just pray!

This is the first and only Psalm, penned by Moses. The setting is in the wilderness. The journey was supposed to start from Egypt and end at the promised land. What Moses experienced was the death of a generation, approximately two million people, in the wilderness. The brevity of life is truly a v***r, in relation to eternity. Moses prayer was that “by God’s mercy and grace, one’s life can have value, significance and meaning.”

What a night! Though this was not the highest number of people served by groceries, people kept coming after we had shut down. We served 279 people with groceries. The pictures from our pantry shows the mayhem that took place at the end. I estimate that we gave out about 120 bags. The Food Bank gave us other food stuff to give out. I commend our team tonight. Our question for the night was, do you pray?
