History:

The Mount Sillar Baptist Church was organized in 1904 the meeting was held in a brush harbor until the church was built. Reverend Jones built the first church in 1912. The building was remodeled and in later years, a new build was erected on this spot under the leadership of Reverend E.C. The following Pastors served Mt. Sillar Baptist Church in years past: Rev. P.C. Crawford, Rev. D.T.

Perry, who started the building fund, Rev. E.C. Scott, Rev. James Allen, Rev. Nathaniel Smith, Rev. Lloyd Johnson, Rev. Curly, Rev. Smiley, Rev. Howard of Mt. Olive in Shorter, Alabama (intermittent pastors), Reverend Howard introduced us to our current Pastor, Rev., Derrick Heard who has pastured since November 2000. Past Deacons of Mt. Sillar Baptist Church are as follows: Deacon Frank Allen, Deacon James Burton, Deacon James Edwards, Deacon Cleo Hawkins, Deacon William Jake Swanson, Deacon Joseph Burton, Deacon Will Allen. Currently Deacon Robert Burton is the Chairperson and Deacon Herman Taylor works faithfully with our church. 2. Releasing Guilt and Shame: The passage emphasizes hearts "sprinkled clean from an evil conscience". Practically, this means accepting forgiveness and walking in freedom, refusing to let past mistakes or feelings of unworthiness prevent approach to Father God.

3. Holding Fast to Faith: Believers are encouraged to hold firmly to the hope of their faith without wavering, relying on the assurance of Yeshua's works rather than personal efforts.

Hebrews 10:10
And in accordance with this will [of Father God] we [who believe in the message of salvation] have been sanctified [ set apart as holy for God and His purposes] through the offering of the body of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed) once for all.

Mature in faith by focusing on the Messiah's character rather than relying on strict, ritualistic law-keeping.

May Christ hold a higher place in your life than Melchizedek did for Abraham! Amen!🙏🏾

Father God,
I praise You for the new and better covenant established through Christ, my great High Priest. Thank You that He is seated at Your right hand, ministering in the true heavenly sanctuary on my behalf. I bring my life to You, not based on my own works, but trusting in the superior promises and grace offered through Him.
