History:

The Mount Sillar Baptist Church was organized in 1904 the meeting was held in a brush harbor until the church was built. Reverend Jones built the first church in 1912. The building was remodeled and in later years, a new build was erected on this spot under the leadership of Reverend E.C. The following Pastors served Mt. Sillar Baptist Church in years past: Rev. P.C. Crawford, Rev. D.T. Perry, who started the building fund, Rev. E.C. Scott, Rev. James Allen, Rev. Nathaniel Smith, Rev. Lloyd Johnson, Rev. Curly, Rev. Smiley, Rev. Howard of Mt. Olive in Shorter, Alabama (intermittent pastors), Reverend Howard introduced us to our current Pastor, Rev., Derrick Heard who has pastured since November 2000. Past Deacons of Mt. Sillar Baptist Church are as follows: Deacon Frank Allen, Deacon James Burton, Deacon James Edwards, Deacon Cleo Hawkins, Deacon William Jake Swanson, Deacon Joseph Burton, Deacon Will Allen. Currently Deacon Robert Burton is the Chairperson and Deacon Herman Taylor works faithfully with our church. 1. Approach God Through Repentance: Just as the outer courtyard required the altar of burnt offering and the bronze laver before a priest could enter, so as we enter the presence of the Most High, we must prepare for a deeper, daily communion by confessing our sin and receiving God's cleansing
(1 John 1:9).

2. Recognize Your Body as a Temple: Because the Holy Spirit indwells believers
(1 Cor. 6:19-20), treat your mind, body, and daily habits as a consecrated space set apart for God's honor.

3. Live by His Guidance: Just as Israel packed or camped based on the movement of the pillar of cloud and fire over the Tabernacle (Exodus 40:36-38), practice yielding your daily schedule, decisions, and directions to the
promptings of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:25).

Father God, thank You for Your endless pursuit of a relationship with us a unconditional love story stretching from Eden and the tabernacle to the life of Christ and the Holy Spirit alive inside us today. Forgive us for treating Your presence casually or searching far away for the God who already lives within our hearts.
Because the sacrifice is finished and the veil is torn, we praise You for full access to our Creator. Wash our hearts clean today. Help us hear Your gentle voice, and let our lives serve as holy sanctuaries of Your love. Bring us into Your rest, and keep us focused on the day we will live in Your presence forever. Hallelujah! Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior
Christ/ Yeshua!

We live in a world where many people feel broken, hurting, and far from God's grace and love. Scripture reminds us that fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much (James 5:16) and fasting can open doors, break strongholds, and bring hope to those who are wandering in darkness.

Because we believe in the power of unified prayer, our community is coming together for a day journey of prayer and fasting(in your own way if possible) starting today at Sept. 21st 6am to sunset. Our primary focus during this time is to intercede for those who are lost asking the Most High to soften hearts, provide direction, and draw them safely into His love and more of His wisdom.

How often are you praying for leaders in the faith and the unsaved? Amen!

True spiritual leadership requires community, not self-sufficiency. Take the Apostle Paul: he planted churches, wrote scripture, and saw incredible miracles. Yet in 2 Thessalonians 3, he asks believers to pray for him. Paul did not ask for an easy life; he asked that God’s Word would spread quickly, change lives, and draw unbelievers into the household of faith. This reveals a powerful reality: God's kingdom moves forward through the shared collective prayers of His church. No leader is too spiritually mature to need your prayers, and no believer is too ordinary to make an impact.

Father God,
We come before You today humbled by the truth of Your Word. Thanking You for Your renewed mercies and unconditional love. We thank You for the reminder in Your Holy Scriptures that even the strongest leaders in our faith are never meant to journey alone. If the Apostle Paul, a spiritual giant who witnessed Your miracles and planted Your churches, needed the intercession of others, how much more do our leaders need our prayers today?

Lord, we lift up the leaders, pastors, and teachers in our lives. We ask that You strip away any temptation toward self-sufficiency and replace it with a deep reliance on Your Holy Spirit. Guard their hearts against pride and exhaustion. Surround them with a community of believers who will lift their hands when they grow weary.

Following the example of Paul, we do not pray merely for their personal comfort, but for the success of the Great Commission. Making disciples in all nation through the spreading of the Gospel. We pray that Your Word may spread rapidly through their ministries. Let Your Gospel break through barriers, change hearts, and be honored everywhere it is spoken.
Please forgive us, Lord, for the times we have looked at our own prayers as insignificant. Remind us that the advancement of Your kingdom relies on the collective prayers of Your people. Use our voices to render prayers to sustain those on the front lines of faith and reach the unsaved. Remind us daily that no one is too spiritually mature to need prayer, and no believer is too ordinary for their prayers to matter. Hallelujah! Your Son holy name, Christ/ Yeshua Amen!

Are you anchored in the Lord?

Life gets heavy sometimes! Amen!
When the early church in Thessalonica was dealing with intense pressure, anxieties, and confusion, the Apostle Paul did not just give them empty clichés. Instead, he celebrated how much their faith was growing and reminded them to keep their eyes on eternity/Our Sovereign God.

In Chapter 1 & 2, Paul reminds us that God sees our pain. Our present struggles are not invisible to Him. When Christ returns, He will bring relief to the afflicted and make all things right. Your endurance today is proof of a genuine, living faith that points to His coming kingdom.

1. Fix your thoughts on eternity: Remind yourself that your current pain has an expiration date.

1 Thessalonians 5:8
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

In 1 Thessalonians 5, the Apostle Paul tells Christians to guard their hearts with faith and love, and to protect their minds with the confident hope of salvation.

This passage of scripture also reminds believers to stay alert, live wisely, and encourage one another while waiting for Christ's second return.
Amen!

Practical Applications:

1. Warn the idle: Speak up when someone is slothful/lazy or causing trouble in a helpful loving way.

2. Comfort the discouraged: Reach out to people who feel sad, fretful, or anxious.

3. Help the weak at heart: Support those who struggle with physical or emotional burdens.

4. Be patient: Show kindness to everyone, even when people test your patience.

5. Watch and be sober: Do not spiritually sleep. Stay awake and aware of God's work around you.

Father God,
I praise You as the Giver of life and the source of renewed mercies every morning. I honor Your sovereignty and the unconditional love I feel today. Thank You for Your constant grace and the gift of prayer. Please help me to rejoice always and keep my heart turned toward You throughout the busyness of today. Most High, please teach me through Your Holy Spirit to pray without ceasing, bringing every joy, worry, and need to Your throne. 1. Check on others:

2. Refuse to isolate: Do not try to walk through hardship alone. Surround yourself with a trusted, godly community that can anchor you when life gets challenging.

3. Intercede for others: Paul prayed night and day for the Thessalonians to have their spiritual gaps filled. Turn your worry for others into active, daily prayer. Amen!

In the exordium of chapter 1, Paul praises the Thessalonians because the Word of God rang out from them. They did not just keep faith to themselves. It echoed to every place. In chapter 2, Paul reminds them that they accepted his

Are you devoted to serving well?

Being devoted to good work means intentionally making kindness, service, and practical help a regular habit in daily life. Rooted strongly in biblical texts like Titus 3:8 and Titus 3:14, it calls people to focus on actions that help others, meet urgent needs, and stay fruitful rather than idle.

Paul encourages Titus to establish the Blueprint of service/healthy ministry in Crete.
This passage is calling us to operate in healthy ministry.
These concepts are rooted in divine healing, physical care, and holistic wholeness modeled by Christ and the early church. Meeting the needs of people where they are momentarily is the goal. The Most High does the saving through the Works of the Cross of His Son, Yeshua. Amen!

Practical Applications:

1. Cultivating a Productive Life:
Treat service as a learned skill that requires intentional practice, planning, and consistent devotion rather than random coincidence.
Pray for guidance as you serve.

2. Personal Growth in Service:

2. Reject toxic traits: Avoid appointing or following leaders who are arrogant, quick-tempered, greedy, or hot-headed.

3. Anchor in sound teaching: Know the Bible well so you can encourage others and gently and lovingly correct wrong ideas.

Father God,
Thank You for renewed mercies and unconditional love on this beautiful day.
I come to you today asking for a more discerning spirit. Give me a heart of wisdom and a clear mind. Help me to see past the noise of this world and hear your gentle voice. When I face choices, show me the right path. Take away any confusion, fear, or doubt in my heart. Open my eyes to see the truth and give me the strength to follow your will above all else.
Please teach me how to love and help the people around me. Take away my pride and teach me to be kind. Give me a willing spirit to serve others with joy, just as Christ did during His time on earth. Help me to boldly
share the gospel as I
