LC Cheshire The Legionaries of Christ Novitiate and College of Humanities - A Window into the Seminary Thy Kingdom Come! The novitiate in Cheshire, Connecticut.

Dear Family and friends in Christ,
The miracle of our vocation takes us places we never thought we would be, and some we never knew existed! Cheshire is a small, sleepy town not far from New York City, and for us it is a special place, because it was a place of God’s choosing, and has brought us together in this unlikely family of God’s choosing, from everywhere in the world: Germany, Italy, Braz

il, Chile, Argentina, The United States, South Korea, Mexico, El Salvador, Colombia, France, Canada, Vietnam, California...
Since it brings us far from you, though in our hearts you are never far, we want to share our lives and our vocations with you through this little window called facebook. We want to share our ideals, our jokes, our thoughts and interests, and of course – our faces. For those visiting who don’t know us yet, we want you to have the chance to meet us through this page and to discover the love of Christ that has transformed our lives and reigns in our hearts here. We hope and pray you find the same joy the love of Christ brings to us, and we ask for your prayers as we continue our journey of formation and discernment for religious life and the priesthood as Legionaries of Christ. A Legionary spends his first two years at one of several novitiate centers around the world. There, the solid foundation of Legionary life is laid down in preparation to make the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. The motto: "Christus Vita Vestra" - "Christ Your Life". The novices´ interior life is based on a personal knowledge and love of Christ, gained through an hour of daily prayer before Mass, an hour of Eucharistic adoration each day, and individual spiritual direction. Their life is beautiful in its simplicity, a reliving of Christ´s quiet preparation in Nazareth for his public ministry. The Humanists are Legionary Brothers who have just professed their vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience and are beginning their religious life. They study 1 to 2 years of Classical Humanities (World History, Art, Latin, Greek...)

Meet Br. Mark Laurence! During and after college, Br. Mark’s Catholic faith had become an inconvenience, but after a transformative experience of God’s presence, he came to a point of gratitude and understanding that he depended entirely on God.

In the next few years, Br. Mark became involved in his parish of St. Brigid in San Diego, and began to feel the call to become a missionary, and after a few visits to the LC seminary in Cheshire, Connecticut, he joined the novitiate. Br. Mark made his first vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience as a Legionary of Christ in August of 2025!
