Matthew 4:2 For forty days and forty nights he fasted and became very hungry. 3 During that time the devil came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.” 4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
"IF YOU ARE THE SON OF GOD", Has anyone ever called you out, said you couldn't do something? How does it make you feel? When I was in school they'd use the word "poser".
You NEVER wanted to be called a poser! It would ruin your school year!
The devil uses that same tactic on Jesus calling him a poser but because he's Jesus he's just better than us, i'm fine with it and you should be fine with it haha. Instead of feeling that NEED that URGE that GUT INSTINCT to want to prove that person wrong and in some cases making us look ever WORSE Jesus stops and remind the devil if food were the ONLY thing he needed he'd do that but that's not all. He and we need more than just that. You see, when we face adversity it shouldn't just be about proving we can defeat that feeling/gut instinct/urge, of course we can. When we have our mind right, that doesn't even become a battle for us anymore. Jesus took down the enemy plenty of times but here, here he brushes him off like crumbs on a table.
Today dust him off, sometimes the enemy isn't even worth the energy and also remember where your power comes from.
