Colossians 1:27–29 shows that Christ’s commission is centered on sharing a powerful truth once hidden but now revealed: that Christ lives in all believers, both Jews and Gentiles, giving them the sure hope of future glory. This means the gospel isn’t just information—it’s the living presence of Christ within us, transforming our lives. Because of this, we are called to proclaim Him to others, not just so they believe, but so they grow into spiritual maturity in Christ. And as we carry out this mission, we don’t rely on our own strength, but on Christ’s power working through us to accomplish His purpose.

Romans 10:13–17 teaches that anyone can be saved by calling on Jesus, but people cannot call on Him unless they first believe, and they cannot believe unless they hear the gospel. This shows Christ’s commission clearly: His message must be shared. God sends messengers to preach, so others can hear, believe, and be saved. Faith doesn’t come from within ourselves—it comes from hearing the Word of Christ. While salvation is open to everyone, each person is responsible to respond, which is why sharing the gospel is so important.

In Matthew 28:18–20, Jesus gives His followers a clear and powerful mission known as the Great Commission. Because He has all authority in heaven and on earth, He commands believers to go into the world and make disciples of all nations—not just sharing the message, but helping others follow Him. This includes baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything He commanded. It’s not optional—it’s the continuation of His work on earth through His people. And as we go, we do so with confidence, knowing Jesus is always with us, giving us the strength and presence we need to carry out His mission.

Have you had a chance to share your testimony or the gospel this week? It’s not meant to feel like pressure, but a beautiful opportunity—because these verses remind us it’s more than a suggestion, it’s a calling. We’ve been entrusted with the good news of Jesus, a message of hope meant for everyone. Why keep something so life-changing to ourselves? Jesus gave His life for all people, and salvation isn’t about what we’ve done, but about what God has done for us. Let’s honor Him and lovingly share that hope with someone today.

John 19:28–37 shows the intense suffering of Jesus in His final moments on the cross, as He endures thirst, pain, and the piercing of His body to prove He truly died. Even in this agony, Jesus knowingly fulfills prophecy and completes His mission, crying “It is finished” to declare that the full price for sin has been paid. His unbroken bones and the blood and water flowing from His side reveal both the reality of His suffering and His role as the perfect Passover Lamb sacrificed for humanity. Though it looks like a moment of weakness and death, Jesus remains in control, willingly giving His life as a powerful and purposeful act of salvation.

Psalm 22 is a powerful prophecy that reflects the intense suffering of Jesus Christ on the cross. The psalm begins with the cry, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”, expressing the deep feeling of abandonment that Jesus experienced during His crucifixion. It describes pain, mockery, and physical agony—such as pierced hands and feet and enemies casting lots for clothing—details that closely match the events of His death. Yet even in the midst of this suffering, the psalm shows trust in God’s faithfulness. It moves from a desperate cry for help to confident praise, revealing that through Christ’s suffering God would ultimately bring salvation and cause people from all nations to worship Him.

Romans 5:6–11 shows the depth of Christ’s suffering and the greatness of God’s love. While we were still helpless, sinful, and even enemies of God, Jesus willingly suffered and died for us on the cross. His painful sacrifice was not only because we deserved it, but more because of God’s mercy and love. Through the shedding of His blood, we are forgiven, declared righteous, and brought back into a right relationship with God. If God loved us enough to give His Son when we were His enemies, we can be confident that He will continue to save and keep us now that we are reconciled to Him. Because of Christ’s suffering and sacrifice, believers can live with hope, peace, and joy, knowing their salvation is secure.
