Jesse wasn't a king, a prophet, or anyone particularly famous. He was just an ordinary man from a small town called Bethlehem. Yet God chose his family line to bring forth the greatest King who would ever live. This reveals something beautiful about God's character - He doesn't need your resume to be impressive. He doesn't require you to have the right connections or come from the right family. God delights in choosing ordinary people for extraordinary purposes. Maybe you feel overlooked, unqualified, or insignificant. Perhaps you think your background disqualifies you from being used by God. But Jesse's story reminds us that God's selection process is different from the world's. He looks at the heart, not the headlines. He sees potential where others see problems. Your ordinary life, your humble beginnings, your simple faith - these aren't obstacles to God's plan. They're exactly what He loves to work with. When God uses ordinary people, it's clear that the power comes from Him, not from human greatness.
Micah 5:2 But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.
