🌟 SUNDAY STAFF SPOTLIGHT: KYLE NEWMAN 🌟
This past week, Kyle Newman stood before the Mission’s Board of Directors and shared not only about the operations of our Food Services Department, but also about the life and faith that shape the way he serves.

Kyle has been part of the Mission family since 2019, and during that time, he has made a lasting impression on staff, clients, volunteers, and community members alike.

Directing our Food Services Department is no small responsibility. Kyle oversees the preparation and service of approximately 200 meals, three times each day. He coordinates our weekly community food box distribution and helps ensure that no one who comes to our door is ever turned away hungry.

Kyle is also entrusted with stretching every donated dollar as far as it can possibly go. He understands that behind every contribution is a donor who believes in this ministry—and a person in need who is depending on us. He does not take that responsibility lightly.
But Kyle’s ministry has never been limited to the kitchen.

When he is not preparing meals, assisting staff and volunteers, organizing the pantry, or shopping for the best deal- you may find him helping another department, responding to a community member in need, serving as a deacon at Big Branch Church, or sharing the Good News with children in our local elementary schools. Even after his workday ends, Kyle’s service often continues. If someone needs a helping hand, he is usually already on the way.
Kyle is an encourager. He is a testimony to our staff and clients of what God can do through a willing and surrendered heart.

He will simply tell you, “I love Jesus, and I want to serve Him—however and whatever that looks like today.”

And that is exactly how Kyle lives.

During his presentation, Kyle spoke openly about his journey. He credited his parents for providing him with a loving home and shared how deeply blessed he is by the love of his wife and son. He also acknowledged that before coming to the Mission—before marriage and fatherhood—he made choices that led him down a path he no longer wanted to follow.

Kyle wanted something different. He chose change, purpose, faith, and service. His past did not disqualify him; God used it to deepen his compassion for others who are searching for hope and a new beginning.

Kyle has a heart for feeding people—but with Kyle, it is never only about the food. He feeds people with encouragement, dignity, kindness, truth, and the love of Jesus.

You may have seen Kyle “going live” from our community pantry to share an urgent need. You may have seen him working somewhere in the community, quietly offering a helping hand or shining the light of Christ. What you see is exactly who he is: a man who wants his life to be useful to God and helpful to others.

We invite you to come and see our Food Services Department in action. Volunteer to serve a meal, help organize our pantry, or simply come and walk through the program. Kyle would be honored to show you the work being done—and, more importantly, share with you the reason why we do it.

Kyle, thank you for reminding all of us that a meal can feed the body, but love, dignity, and the Good News can nourish a soul.

We are deeply grateful that God placed you at Huntington City Mission. 💚
