“Waiting” is not something I personally want to do. Have you ever ordered something online and just checked out and saw that your order will take 2 weeks to arrive? There’s some excitement, worry, and more importantly wanting to get it soon. “Waiting” is the ultimate test of patience. “Waiting” requires nothing but time, and we have no control over that. We try to fill the “wait” with other activities so that we don’t feel the length of time passing by. This is example is just material, what more if it’s an uncertain situation, or something life-changing, something that would make or break us? This Psalm actually reminds us what to do in those times. The reminder is to be strong, and take heart, be courageous. The results, are ultimately reliant on God’s time, regardless if they are favorable for us or not, we have to wait on the Lord and the actions that we have to take are mentioned.

So whatever drives you to fear, anxiety, or inaction, while waiting for answers and on God, we’re reminded that we have to take courage and be strong. To which, I hope with God’s power, help us to move forward with life and living as disciples while waiting. We’ll get there in God’s time.

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

This verse is an encouragement for believers to grow in their salvation while encouraging others to continue on, living the lifestyle of our faith.

Last 2 chapters of Matthew for this week. I hope reading Matthew, especially if this is your first time reading the entire book gave you some insight on how Jesus’ ministry looked like through Matthew’s eyes. He, being a tax collector by profession, was detail oriented, so in his writing, put Jesus and His disciples on location of what was about to transpire.

For our next plan, we can move forward to read Mark, or we can jump to Genesis, another amazing book, that kicks us off all the way from the start. Let us know in the poll.

Stern reminder for the proud:

It is not our job to lift ourselves up, God does the lifting, and He’s lifting us up to Himself. Whatever that may look like to us, it will always be what’s best for us, and according to His will, in the position where God wants us to be. He doesn’t want us to be anxious, and this anxiety comes from our self-reliance, and believing that we can lift everything up, including ourselves.

Let’s be reminded that God lifts us up, He doesn’t want us to be anxious. We just need to look to Him, and stay humble.

Intentional gathering. Focusing on friendship, hospitality, and mentoring across generations and among peers. It is how we get to know and serve each other. We go to gather on Sundays to know God, learn about Him and be connected with others through Him rather than just filling an empty seat. Today is that day.

This verse shows two pathways to wisdom. Some people are stubborn and refuse to listen - when they face consequences for their bad choices, others watching learn from that mistake. Even someone naive can think, “I’m not going to do that!” Others are wise enough to listen when taught something, they don’t have to mess up first.

The deepest wisdom isn’t just avoiding mistakes or listening to good advice. It’s accepting Jesus’s invitation to learn from Him directly, receiving His grace, and becoming part of God’s family.
That’s the redemptive direction wisdom points towards.
