📣 GCLEA is currently undergoing mold remediation and repair following a water leak that affected portions of our facility.

For everyone's safety, the entire back section of the building is now an active construction zone and is closed until further notice. This closure includes:
The hallway leading to the kitchen
The café/kitchen area
The library
The children's room
The women's restroom

Please do not enter these areas under any circumstances.
The following areas remain open and are operating as normal:
Men's entrance and foyer
Men's restroom
Men's overflow hall
Main prayer hall
Classroom
Women's prayer hall
Women's shoe storage area

Please plan accordingly before coming for prayer services, as the restroom and other facilities in the closed area will not be accessible.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important remediation and repair work. Our goal is to restore the affected areas as quickly and safely as possible. We will continue to provide updates and will announce when the closed areas are reopened.

In shāʾ Allāh, between Maghrib and ʿIshāʾ this evening, we continue our study of Imām al-Wāsiṭī's spiritual journey. Having completed his time among the Shāfiʿī jurists of Baghdad, we now turn to his experiences within the city's Sufi milieu.

In this discussion, we'll explore a timeless question: What are the outward signs of religion, and what are the inward realities that give them life?

We'll reflect on sincerity, the dangers of becoming attached to status and recognition, and the qualities that truly mark a heart drawing nearer to Allah.

Join us tonight for our Adult Study Circle between Maghrib and ʿIshāʾ

This evening we continue our study of Imam al-Wāsiṭī's Riḥlah, following his journey to Baghdad, where he entered the circles of the Shāfiʿī jurists in search of the knowledge that had been missing from his early spiritual upbringing.

Together we will explore:

• Imam al-Wāsiṭī's observations of the jurists of Baghdad and what he learned from them.
• The life and legacy of one of Islam's greatest intellectual figures, **Imam Fakhr al-Dīn al-Rāzī**.
• The relationship between fiqh and sulūk, and why al-Wāsiṭī believed that sacred law and spiritual refinement must remain united.
• How al-Wāsiṭī envisioned the ideal faqīh: a scholar who joins sound creed, knowledge of the Sharīʿah, sincere worship, and purification of the heart.
