The Gospel: Movement, "Our Core Values" sermon series by Pastor Joshua Kim.

In Matthew 28:16-20, Jesus gives what is often called the Great Commission, but this passage is about more than missions or evangelism. In this sermon, we explore how the risen Christ reveals Himself as the Lord with all authority in heaven and on earth, inviting us to trust Him even in the midst of doubt, fear, suffering, and uncertainty. The resurrection is not only proof of Jesus' power—it is the foundation of our hope and the reason we can confidently follow Him.

What does it really mean to make disciples? Jesus calls His people to a life of movement, not spiritual isolation. Through the local church, believers are called to go, baptize, teach, and help others grow into the image of Christ. This message challenges an individualistic view of Christianity and shows how the gospel transforms us into people who participate in God's mission of renewal and restoration.

Most importantly, this sermon reminds us that the Great Commission is grounded in a greater promise: "I am with you always." Because Jesus died, rose again, and reigns with all authority, His presence goes with His people wherever He leads them. Whether you are exploring Christianity, wrestling with doubt, or seeking encouragement in your faith, Matthew 28:16-20 points us to the hope, comfort, and mission found in Jesus Christ.

The Gospel: Identity, "Our Core Values" sermon series by Pastor Donny Cho.

In Matthew 16:13-26, Jesus gently but firmly shows us that gospel identity is not just about what we say about Him, but whether we are willing to follow Him. To know Him rightly means to embrace both His glory and His sacrifice—and to take up our own cross as we walk behind Him.

These words invite us deeper. Jesus does not just call us to recognize Him; He calls us to belong to Him. On the cross, He gives up His life so that we might find ours. Our identity is no longer built on comfort, success, or control, but on the One who laid everything down for us.

”…we want her surrounded by people who remind her who she truly is and that her worth is not found in what she does but in what Christ has already done for her. That is where our responsibility comes in: not just to hope she finds that kind of community, but for her to see that we seek it out and that we need it ourselves.”

Metro Church celebrated the baptism of Bennett Jang, daughter of Guirae and Heidi Jang. Guirae shared his prayers and hopes for Bennett—to be raised in a community of God’s people and that in his perfect time, she would come to saving faith in Christ and walk in the newness of life.

Read how God is working in the Jang family in this installment of 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, a series that highlights journeys and testimonies within our Metro Community.

The Atonement — Day 5 | Holy Week Devotions 2026 | Pastor Daniel Sung

As darkness covered the land, Jesus took upon Himself the shame, failure, and wrath we deserved. We often try to justify ourselves through our own accomplishments, status, and efforts—but these "false saviors" always fall short. In this teaching, we reflect on the moment the temple curtain was torn from top to bottom, restoring our access to the Father. Discover the freedom that comes when you stop trying to save yourself and trust in the One who gave His life so you could live in His presence forever.

The Cleansing — Day 4 | Holy Week Devotions 2026 | Pastor Andrew Pae

"Unless I wash you, you have no part with me." In this session, Pastor Andrew Pae examines John 13:1-15 to reveal the ultimate act of a servant. We often spend our lives trying to "appear" clean—covering our insecurities with power, success, or status—but the truth is that we are incapable of cleaning our own hearts.

In this teaching, we look at why Jesus, the King of Kings, knelt to wash the feet of His disciples. Discover why true security isn't found in climbing the ladder, but in letting Jesus wash away the dirt of our souls so we can finally be clean.

The Purge — Day 2 | Holy Week Devotions 2026 | Pastor Joshua Kim

Why did Jesus drive the money changers out of the temple? Today, Pastor Joshua Kim dives into Mark 11:15-19 to uncover the “robber” inside all of our hearts. While we don’t worship at a physical temple today, we are often guilty of using the house of God for our own status, recognition, and personal advancement rather than for true worship.

In this teaching, we explore how Christ became the ultimate sacrifice to provide the direct access to God that we could never earn on our own. It’s time to stop striving for our own gain and start resting in the finished work of Jesus.
