The Gospel: Movement, "Our Core Values" sermon series by Pastor Joshua Kim.
In Matthew 28:16-20, Jesus gives what is often called the Great Commission, but this passage is about more than missions or evangelism. In this sermon, we explore how the risen Christ reveals Himself as the Lord with all authority in heaven and on earth, inviting us to trust Him even in the midst of doubt, fear, suffering, and uncertainty. The resurrection is not only proof of Jesus' power—it is the foundation of our hope and the reason we can confidently follow Him.
What does it really mean to make disciples? Jesus calls His people to a life of movement, not spiritual isolation. Through the local church, believers are called to go, baptize, teach, and help others grow into the image of Christ. This message challenges an individualistic view of Christianity and shows how the gospel transforms us into people who participate in God's mission of renewal and restoration.
Most importantly, this sermon reminds us that the Great Commission is grounded in a greater promise: "I am with you always." Because Jesus died, rose again, and reigns with all authority, His presence goes with His people wherever He leads them. Whether you are exploring Christianity, wrestling with doubt, or seeking encouragement in your faith, Matthew 28:16-20 points us to the hope, comfort, and mission found in Jesus Christ.
