So many hurting people over the years have said this was a real godsend for making it through the daunting days of holiday cheer that can become such raw pain … don’t be afraid to come — you will never be required to speak (can just listen and learn ) , but it is ready with people who will listen to you and care if you are willing to share, would like to ask a question, etc., as we’ve all been through a form of this loss and are glad we found help and hope 🥲
Have you lost a loved one recently and are having a tough time with the grief – especially as the holidays are approaching? The program, “GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays” can help! This encouraging one- morning seminar is for people facing the upcoming holidays after a loved one’s death.
This event is being offered to our community on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 10am to Noon, at Peace Lutheran Church, located at the south entrance to Cherokee Village, next to the Highland Casey’s.
This non-denominational seminar features video interviews with counselors, grief experts, and other people who have experienced the holidays after their loved one’s death; they offer practical suggestions and reassurance. These people share honestly about:
--Being prepared for surprising emotions that may hit over the holidays
--What to do about traditions and other coming changes
--How to handle holiday parties and invitations
--How to navigate potentially awkward moments with other people
--Where to find comfort, strength, and hope in a seemingly hopeless time .
The cost is just $6.00, which covers the price for a helpful Survival Guide workbook to take home, filled with practical tips and exercises for daily help through the holiday season. A breakfast pizza will be served.
Christians and non-Christians alike will benefit from this event. For more info, call Peace Lutheran church at 870 - 257-3957.
