Two Corona Prayers
A HEALTH CARE WORKER’S PRAYER
Eternal One, God of all people,
Be with me as I care for the sick and the dying.
Keep me strong and clear minded
At this time of uncertainty and danger.
Help me to be the healer I want to be
And keep me, my coworkers, family and friends
Safe, strong and courageous.
Bless me, Eternal One,
With your healing presence and with inner strength. Amen.
A PRAYER ON BEHALF OF HEALTH CARE WORKERS
Eternal One, God of all people,
We are grateful for those who take care of us everyday
In hospitals, retirement communities and clinics.
We are grateful for our EMS workers, policemen and firemen
Who daily respond to our emergencies and our crises.
At this unprecedented moment of global pandemic
We pray for the wellbeing of all our health care workers
In all lands and all places of care and concern.
Bless those who have spent their lives training and sacrificing
To be our guardians at the front line of health and hope
For extraordinary efforts to contain and treat the Coronavirus.
Give our health care workers the strength and courage to continue their work.
Inspire those who are responsible to supply them with medicine and proper gear
To give them what they need
To do what they must to help, protect, heal and encourage the rest of us.
Bless their families, loved ones and friends
With strength and courage
And fill their hearts with our thanks for their sacrifices.
Protect our health care workers from bodily harm
And keep their spirits up.
Help them to remain compassionate even in the face of personal danger
And bring them home safely to those they love
When they are done their shift and try to rest
for the next unprecedented round of caring.
We pray for the day
When we are delivered from the COVID challenge
And we can return to the normal world of
Daily life and all its complexities, wonders and hope,
Where healing is possible
And healers are beloved for what they always do and are no longer called upon to be soldiers
At the battlefront for the survival of humanity.
Bless all of us, Eternal One, with strength, courage and wisdom. Amen
