Temple Emmanuel Chelsea serves reform and conservative congregants from across the North Shore of Massachusetts. We offer reform sidorim for Shabbat services and festivals and conservative sidorim for the high holidays. Shabbat services begin at 6:30 pm on Friday nights and Sunday morning minion begins at 9 am, with breakfast preceding at 8:30 am. All are welcome to come and experience our Temple family.

Hello!
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow evening, June 7th, for our Chai Celebration in honor of Rabbi Oksana's 18 years with Temple Emmanuel.

The Program:

6:00pm: Doors open. Drinks, cocktails and Israeli dancing. If raining registration and cocktails will be inside. If not raining, registration and cocktails will be in the side lawn on Cary & Gardner. Israeli dancing will be in the sanctuary.

6:45pm: We will have speeches and show a short film about Rabbi Oksana

7:20pm: The function hall will open for dinner

8:00pm: The comedy show with Josh Mandl begins.

8:40pm We will end the night with dessert and mingling.

Parking Information:
For your convenience we have secured free parking in two locations should it be difficult to find street parking:
Torf Funeral Home: 151 Washington Ave, Chelsea, MA 02150 entrance off Cary Ave. Anthony Memorial, Frank Walsh Funeral Home Parking lot: 718 Broadway. Across the street from the funeral home.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of cantor David Shiff, whom field fellow Hankus Netsky had had the honor to interview in May 2020 and again in October 2024. In his interview, David recounts his childhood days singing “Bay mir bistu sheyn” for tips in front of the butcher shop, the process of putting together the Forward Radio Hour live show, and his long career as a cantor in Yonkers. TEMPLE EMMANUEL OF CHELSEA HOSTS CHAI CELEBRATION FUNDRAISER HONORING RABBI OKSANA CHAPMAN’S 18 YEARS OF SERVICE

April 25, 2025 Chelsea, MA Temple Emmanuel of Chelsea, MA will host a special Chai Celebration and Fundraiser on June 7, 2025, at 6:00 PM to honor Rabbi Oksana Chapman’s 18th year as the Temple’s rabbi and cantor.

The celebration will take place at Temple Emmanuel, 60 Tudor Street, Chelsea, MA, from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM, featuring Middle Eastern and Israeli food and traditional dancing, and a special comedy performance by Josh Mandl, a rising star from Boston.

Temple President Sara Lee Callahan, a Chelsea native who grew up attending Temple Emmanuel with her family, expressed her gratitude for Rabbi Oksana’s leadership: “Rabbi Oksana has been the heart of our community, bringing wisdom, music, and warmth to Temple Emmanuel for 18 years. Inviting her to lead our community is one of the best decisions we ever made.”
