Our current series is taking us through the Psalms. The section of Psalms we just went through are the Messianic psalms, ones that point to Jesus and what he did for us. The three greatest words ever spoken. Why? Not because of the words themselves or how they were spoken. Rather, because of who said them and when. Jesus said these words before he took his last breath upon the cross. What these words mean is that we can rest from trying to be good enough for God or sacrifice enough for him. These words remind us that Jesus did the work for us. Jesus lived the life we cannot live and died to pay the price that was too steep for us to pay. These words tells us to give up the struggle of trying to be good enough and surrender to the only One who ever was good enough.
