What an absolutely gorgeous afternoon we had for our Greater East Buffalo Family of Parishes annual parish picnic at Cheektowaga Town Park.
It was a joy to see so many parishioners from all of our churches sharing great food, laughter, and friendship while many were also celebrating our rich faith and Polish heritage thoughtout the weekend at the Polish American Art Festival.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped organize this special event, volunteered their time, prepared the delicious food, and joined us to make the day such a fun time for all. Your generosity and spirit of community are what make our Family of Parishes so special.

I hope you enjoy these photos from the picnic.

Relics for July

“In honor of our American saints, we gather on the 250th anniversary of our nation to give thanks and praise. Through July we venerate the relics of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, Saint John Neumann, Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, and Saint Kateri Tekakwitha—pillars of faith and courage who shaped our Catholic identity in this land. May their lives inspire us as we build a future in unity and love.”

St. John Gualbert’s first Adopt-A-Relic Initiative Mass Celebrating Our Apostle Level Sponsors

On the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, June 29, a special Mass was celebrated by Rev. Cole Webster behind St. John Gualbert’s Relic Gate. This Mass location is reserved as a special honor for tier-level benefactors of the Adopt-A-Relic Initiative, whose generosity has helped preserve and share our sacred relic collection.

The Mass was offered in loving remembrance of Robert Pietrzak and for the living and deceased members of the Pietrzak family.

We are especially grateful to Veronica Pietrzak, who became the first of twelve Apostle Level benefactors to sponsor the relics of the Twelve Apostles. Her generous gift made possible the custom display pedestal that will allow pilgrims and parishioners the opportunity to venerate the relics of the Apostles up close. Through her generosity, these relics will continue to inspire devotion for generations to come.

Following the Mass, Dave Killian, Chairman of the Adopt-A-Relic Initiative, presented Mrs. Pietrzak with her official Relic Adoption Certificate and Sponsorship Letter in recognition of her extraordinary commitment to helping preserve St. John Gualbert’s relic collection.

May Saints Peter and Paul intercede for the Pietrzak family, and may God richly bless Veronica Pietrzak and all those who support the mission of St. John Gualbert Diocesan Relic Shrine.

If you or someone you know is interested in supporting the Adopt-A-Relic Initiative or would like to sponsor a relic, please contact Dave Killian at
